Dubai to reduce gas-dependence to 60% by 2030
The emirate’s needs of natural gas are fully secured

Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA) CEO Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer on Thursday stated that Dubai was planning to reduce its dependence on natural gas to 60% by 2030.

This goal will be achieved through the diversification of the emirate's energy resources, Al Tayer added, noting that Dubai was not facing any shortage in natural gas.

The emirate’s needs of natural gas are fully secured through long-term contracts with Dolphin Energy Company and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), he revealed.

The top official stressed that solar energy projects are the top priority of DEWA, Dubai Government, and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
